Wine

huerta-de-albala-2.jpgAndalucía is growing strongly as one of Spain’s most exciting wine districts. During the last ten years there has been a remarkable development. A number of new wine yards have been founded were a generation of high quality red wines now are produced.

New grape varieties, normally not associated with Andalucía, have been introduced. Up in the Serrania de Ronda, at an altitude between 700 and 1000 meters, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah are cultivated. You can find a top-class Pinot Noir as well as a fantastic red wine made from the German grape Lemberger.

Among the more well-known wine yards are Bodega Doña Felisa, Huerta Albalá, Bodega El Chantre, Schatz and Cortijo Aguilares. We arrange visits at wine yards, including tasting, and sometimes we visit a cork fabric. The days can be completed with a dinner at Casa Acequia, of course with some of the best wines from the region.

druvklase.jpgJerez, the capital of Sherry, is just one hour away. We can arrange a visit to some of the old bodegas, were you can see the production and taste some of the Finos and Olorosos.
