The olive grove

olivlund1.jpgAt Casa Acequia we have 240 olive trees. Normally we do the harvest in October – November each year. We have different types of olives, the Manzanilla (soft and mild) and the Picual (bitter and tough). From these olives we make our own olive oil.

Anyone can come here and take part in the harvesting, see how the olives are pressed and how to take care of the trees. We arrange tasting of olive oils, visits to olive farms as well as to our cooperative in the village, were a lot of the olives from the area are pressed into oil.

The olive tree is one of the main cultivated plants in southern Europe and alongside the wine, probably the most ancient and important.

Come to Casa Acequia and take part in the cultural heritage!
